V + J {wedding}

Vania and Jesus had their wedding at the Police Academy in Los Angeles, a location that most people probably don’t know about. A hidden gem lush with greens, waterfalls, and tall trees. Vania got ready at the beautiful Langham hotel in Pasadena, which was once the Ritz. The staff was so pleasant. The valet guy who pulled my mini cooper out was probably 17 and had this big ole smile on his face as he was driving my car, i’m guessing he was quite intriqued by the ignition. :)

This was the first time i’ve ever seen a grown man cry this hard at his own wedding. It was beautiful to witness. If Jesus is reading this, don’t worry, i am not posting that picture up here. :) Thanks to Marc Blackwood and Art for assisting me! We had too many laughs!!

vania + jesus teaser {wedding}

Here’s a teaser from Vania and Jesus’s wedding… enjoy!

I also want to encourage everyone today to just take a few moments and remember 9/11 and send a prayer out to those who have lost loved ones in the tragedy. I remember that morning so well. It was very shocking, my eyes were glued to the tv and in disbelief. It is something that will sit in our hearts for a long time.

I am so thrilled to hear what one of my clients did.  He wrote to the girls at weddingchicks, a really hip and stylish website, about me and my work. You never expect that kind of compliment but it’s such a great feeling to know that you’ve made someone happy and they went out of their way to write such a compliment! Take a look at their site. The girls did a really cool collage! They are so creative and artsy! Thanks, Mike. I appreciate what you wrote!

Hello,

My fiancé and I are recently engaged.  She’s happily neck deep planning for the big day however I was allowed (actually I begged) for one assignment.  I got to choose our photographer.  Erika, my fiancé, can make the calls on colors and flowers but the one thing I know I will savor most from our wedding, aside form my beautiful bride, will be our photos.

In my search I noticed that the grooms out there rarely spoke up with any of their suggestions or tips.  So I figured I’d take the time to put in my two cents about the photographer we found, just in case some other groom comes across your website in search of a guy’s recommendation.

We ultimately decide on Sandra Pan who I found online at www.sandrapphotography.com.  She was always very prompt and easy to reach when we had questions about her packages and pricing.  We also met with her before we made out decision to make sure that we were totally comfortable.  Sandra has since completely exceeded our expectations.  We took our engagement photos a few weeks ago at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica (a great location for engagements shoots).  All her shots came out amazing!  You can see just a small fraction of our pictures on her blog.

 We had an engagement party not long after we took our photos and Sandra drove to our house at 11:00 at night just to deliver a CD with our images so we could print out some photos for the party.  How many other photographers would go out of their way like that?  I hope that other couples out there can see Sandra’s work and decide to give her a call for their wedding.  Take it from this guy, they won’t be disappointed!
